STEP UP FOR WOMEN TRADES TRAINING
Congratulations class of 2008 graduates! Best of luck to you!
VT Works for Women is proud to continue its tradition of offering job training in the building trades with Construction Skills for Women: Carpentry. This six-week program for women interested in careers in construction offers participants hands-on carpentry skills training and experience in addition to employment skills and extensive employment support. VWW works with successful graduates of the program for up to a year as they seek positions with our employer partners.
Funded by the Vermont Department of Labor’s Workforce Education and Training Fund, there is no charge for qualified participants. Our 2008 partners include: Associated General Contractors, Engleberth Construction, Leary and Wilson Builders, Stewart Construction, Plane Jane Builders, Red House, Inc., Tom Perry Carpentry Building and Design, J.A. Morrissey, Inc., Century Building and Renovation, Reiss Building and Renovation, Western Tool Supply and Building for Social Responsibility (a professional builders association).
We look for women who are interested in learning the trades and can commit to an intensive, six-week program and begin work upon completion of the training.
Our next program will run in the spring of 2009.
